    Question Spybot's Windows Service Dependencies

    Hello,

I just installed Spybot beta 2.0 for my Windows 7, x64 machine. This computer is being configured for audio production and has most of the non-essential services disabled.

When the installation of Spybot finished, I restarted the computer and noticed none of Spybot's services were running. I started the Scanner service manually and it produced an error message about a dependency no being available. I looked closer and found the Secondary Logon was needed. I enabled it and gave it another go. Now it says the service could not be started with the following error code:

    Error 193: 0xc1

I have no idea what this means. Is it possible to let me know what system resources are needed by Spybot to operate freely?

    Thank you

    Hello,

Did you open Spybot with a right click and choose "run as administrator/take ownership"?

Go to your desktop and double click on the "Spybot-S&D Start Center".
Now activate the "Experienced User Mode" at top by ticking the checkbox.
In the area "Settings & More Tools" please click on "Services".
Now you can activate the Services by ticking the "Start" button.
Afterwards close the "Spybot - Search & Destroy Services" window.

    Best regards
    Sandra
