Default Registry change and some other questions

Hi, I hope this is the right section, sorry if it's not. I have 3 questions and hope you can help:

    1. The following has come up on startup which I've never seen been, is this ok?

(It should be attached as a picture...)

    2. I run spotbot with AVG free and sunbelt firewall (free edition) along with Winpatrol. Do any of them conflict or is that a suitable setup?

    3. My last scan found the following virus/infection

    "";"C:\Documents and Settings\General\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\6819KEBW\index[1].htm";"Virus found JS/Obfuscated";"

and moved it to the virus fault. The scan I did before that was one week before and was clean. Should I be worried that the virus did any damage? I've looked on google but no one seems to be that sure what it does.

    Many thanks

    Mark

Sorry there are a few errors there: I meant that "I've never seen before..." and I run Spybot not Spotbot, and moved it to the virus vault not fault!

I was not having a good time for spelling and grammar earlier!

    Well!I had a long,long reply here,and it's gone!Grrrrr.
    All right,starting over.....

1.Avgchsvx.exe and avgrsx.exe,as shown in your attachment, are related to AVG:
    http://www.pcpitstop.com/libraries/p...vgrsx.exe.html
    http://techdows.com/2009/11/what-is-...remove-it.html
I haven't been able to determine exactly what AVG is doing, but it should be safe to Allow the change, since it's being caused by your antivirus.

2.I don't believe any of those should conflict.
Of note, though, there is an end-of-life notice up for Sunbelt Personal Firewall. It says technical support is provided until December 31, 2011,but what support is being offered for the free version,I cannot find anywhere on the site.
    http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Home-...onal-Firewall/
If you choose to go with a different firewall, there are some free ones listed here:
    http://www.tipstut.com/8-best-free-f...nline-security
It's best to only run one firewall,so if you did decide on another one,it would be best to uninstall the old one.

3.For info on JS/Obfuscated,please see here:

Would you please let me know your version of Spybot? If you're not sure, open Spybot, click Help, then About.

    Default Thanks!

Thanks very much for the reply, I've allowed the change (then it came up with a similar one again after that so allowed that too)

I'm still not 100% sure on what that virus actually does and if I need to be worried about it so I've asked on the AVG thread, thanks for directing me there!

I've noted the hint on the conflicts and sunbelt firewall, think I may change the firewall later this year then.

The Spybot version I'm running is 1.6.2.0 (systems setting protector 1.6.6.32)

    Thanks again,

    Mark
