    Default Cannot Boot Laptop

Hi I have a toshiba laptop running windows 7 64 bit. yesterday my computer just shut down and i have not been able to boot it normally since.
On booting it goes into Startup repair and that is also not able to do any thing for me.
The problem signature I get is
    problem Event Name: StartuRepairOffline
    Problem Signature 01: 6.1.7600.16385
    Problem Signature 02: 6.1.7600.16385
    Problem Signature 03: unknown
    Problem Signature 04: 21201020
    Problem Signature 05: AutoFailover
    Problem Signature 06: 37
    Problem Signature 07: CorruptFile
    OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
    Locale ID: 1033

The startup repair is not able to repair the computer and I am not able to boot in safe mode or anything like that.
During one of the repairs I saw the log and it said that CI.dll was corrupted but I don't see that message any more.
Efforts to try to do a sfc /scannow give me a message there is startup repair in process reboot your computer and on reboot the same thing.

I ran ariva recovery startup and that showed and cleaned some trojans and there is still some exe file sitting in the recycle bin that it is not able to get rid of.

    Can someone pls help.
    Thanks
    Sameer

    Hello Sameer,

There are quite a few topics at the Microsoft Answers forum regarding Startup Repair issues.

Do you have a Windows 7 Installation DVD with which to try and repair your computer?

    Default Cannot Boot laptop

    Thanks Tashi,
I do not have an installation DVD it did not come with the latop and I did not make any recovery disks. I am assuming this would delete all the data I have.
Will see if I can get one from a friend.
Thanks for the link shelf life but that is for a corrupt registry where as I have a corrupt file somewhere.
