    Default Thank you so much

I am no longer being rerouted when I click on hyperlinks, so that is definitely a good thing. I am still unable to install new programs such as Spybot. The error window says "Internal error: Failed to expand shell folder constant "userappdata." I think somethings still got me.

    Good Morning

userappdata <--This is related to restrictions on your system, first lets run a free online virus scanner to make sure we didnt miss anything and then I will link you to a good windows forum that can help you straighten that out

    ESET Online Scanner
I'd like us to scan your machine with ESET OnlineScan

    *Note
It is recommended to disable onboard antivirus program and antispyware programs while performing scans so there are no conflicts and it will speed up scan time.
Please don't go surfing while your resident protection is disabled!
Once the scan is finished remember to re-enable your antivirus along with your antispyware programs.

    1. Hold down Control and click on the following link to open ESET OnlineScan in a new window.
      ESET OnlineScan
    2. Click the button.
    3. For alternate browsers only: (Microsoft Internet Explorer users can skip these steps)
      1. Click on to download the ESET Smart Installer. Save it to your desktop.
      2. Double click on the icon on your desktop.
    4. Check
    5. Click the button.
    6. Accept any security warnings from your browser.
    7. Check
    8. Make sure that the option "Remove found threats" is Unchecked
    9. Push the Start button.
    10. ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin
scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
    11. When the scan completes, push
    12. Push , and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as
ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
    13. Push the button.
    14. Push
Please make sure you include the following items in your next post:
The log that was produced after running ESET Online Scanner.

The ESET program is not running on my computer. It says it cannot download the updates and it is asking if my proxy is configured. I don't think I need a proxy, wouldn't it be superfluous? I dunno. I really need to get that userapp thing done with because I need to download a program for school and it will not let me. Same reason as the Spybot. Frustrating much?

I fixed the userappdata thing. Got the info off of Windows Help. I am still having troubles with the ESET program, though.

    Try this other one

    Running TrendMicro HouseCall:
    1. Click Download HouseCall to begin. Please note that HouseCall requires a small download before it can scan your computer.
    2. Download it to your desktop
    3. Double click HousecallLauncher.exe
    4. Select the Full Scan option.
    5. Let the scan run then post the results to this thread.

So the Trend Housecall worked for over 12 hours and then decided to die at 91%. I am not sure how many threats it said it detected, but my Norton has been going crazy for the last few days quarantining trojans. Trojan.ADH.2, Trojan-Maljava, Trojan.Gen.2, Trojan Horse. I think it happened because of a new update for Norton, but who knows. Just don't want a virus hitting me right when I think I got my computer cleaned. I'm going to run the Trend Antivirus again, and I'll hopefully be able to post back results before tomorrow.

Let me ask you, in general, how is your system behaving . Been at this for many years and some free online virus scanners just wont run on some systems, try one of the other ones I posted
