    Exclamation Kaspersky Internet Security 2012

I recently updated Kaspersky to KIS 2012. Upon reboot of my system and with Teatimer running in the background, Teatimer reported avp.exe was a virus and terminated the process. It identifies it as Win32.Delf.JKH virus or malware.

I'm pretty sure this is a false positive but not 100% sure. I didn't delete the file and made the process avp.exe run its course. If this is a false positive please make the correction on a future update as soon as possible. I disabled Teatimer for the time being.

    Hello ArcticFox,

please send the file in question to detections@spybot.info for further analysis. Thanks in advance.

Received your file and checked it for false positives.
The result is that there is no Spybot S&D detection rule which detects the file.

Since you are using Kaspersky Internet Security it is very likely that you are also using the live protection provided by Kaspersky Internet Security. In that case you should deactivate Teatimer since more than one live protection can cause low performance and like in this case errors during live protection scans.
The main scanners are usually not affected.

To disable the TeaTimer do the following:
    • start Spybot S&D
    • switch to advanced mode
    • navigate to tools - resident
    • uncheck the checkbox for Resident TeaTimer to shutdown TeaTimer and remove it from system start

    Default Kaspersky Internet Security 2012

I have had exactly the same problem on my win7 machine, but no such problem on my desktop WinXP machine.
I am far from sure I know what to send you by way of files.. ..
But a Spy-bot dialogue box came up and said - among other things - "identified as: Win32.mlRC.603"

    I hope this helps others.

I have turned off the teatimer, as advised & am awaiting results.

Thanks for your help (I am a complete newbie to Spy-bot forums - they are really great)

    Mark
