Default Pblms with multiple windows opened

For some reason, if I have multiple windows opened at the same time they begin to cross into one another. My company recently had outlook 2007 installed onto the laptop, so I thought that I might not have enough memory but others I have spoken to have not had the same pblm. Also, when I only have 1 window opened and close it, my background has bits and pieces of the closed window remaining on the monitor. An additional issue is the laptop slowing down to a crawl.

Thanks in advance for suggestions and help
