    Default suspected spyware - needs confirmation

    Programs with the Ask.com toolbar, or it's variants may be recording (or attempting to) your uniqueID, IP address, & geo-location information before agreeing to any EULA. This may include ClamAV & Avira AntiVir 10.2 & Avira Free Antivirus 2012.

    This needs confirmation!!!

    1) Start the installer;
    2) do whatever it takes to get to the EULA/TOA (whatever it's called) of either the program or the toolbar whichever comes first, without having agreed yet
    3) open regedit.exe & navigate to Hkey_Common_Users/Software/Ask.com.tmp & view any variables named "location"
    4) open your temporary folder & search for files (including hidden) for the term "location"
    5) post results under "spybotSD/Requests for additions to Spybot's detections" in a new topic depending on what the moderators say.

    I note that any activity associated with this suspected spyware can be nullified by installing with the internet disabled. You may want to disable program auto-updating for affected programs.

    FYI, in the past the ASK toolbar was a subject of articles and discussion.
