Google Redirects, Windows Update Disabled

Yet another nasty bit my Thinkpad T60. It started with a bogus security program that hid all my files and programs and disabled restore, task manager and my antivirus. I was able to fix the restore function by replacing the files in the %SystemRoot%\system32\restore\ folder with fresh copies. I think rstrui.exe had been replaced with a corrupted copy.

I was able to restore to a prior restore point and my files and programs reappeared. I thought the computer was behaving normally but then while trying to update java and my antivirus I discovered that I now had a google redirect and the windows update was disabled. I am now stuck!.

I would seriously appreciate any help from a real wizard!
