Help infected by Vista Antispyware 2012

Yesterday my computer picked up the Vista Antispyware 2012 malware

I've been trying things unsuccessfully

every .exe file I try to run leads to a popup

I started going through your steps for posting. I backed up my docs and pictures to an external hard drive. I saved erunt to the desktop, but when I try and run it I get a popup saying "Vista Antispyware 2012 has blocked a program from accessing the internet........" and to wants me to click Yes to activate vista or No to continue. If I click No it doesn't let me bypass and keep going.

I ran a restore back to last Friday then did a full system scan in avast. Looks like I'm fixed. I'll head back here if I'm not.
