spyot finds teh same infection over and over

Hello,
My first post here. I did a lot of cleaning but have 8 I cant get rid of.
System: XP home edition ver. 2002 service pack 3
intel celeron 530 @ 1.73 ghz , 2 gig ram .. compaq presario laptop.

So far I have :

Start laptop and observe problem(s)
Reaseach symptoms and downloaded file needed to clean main
virus, godzillakiller or something like that.
Removed main virus with downloaded software
Updated AVG antivirus
Ran full AVG scan from safe mode command prompt
Ran full AVG scan from windows safemode GUI > no virus found
Ran full AVG scan from windows Normal Mode > no virus found
Updated Spybot
Alppyed imunization against over 15,000 unsafe web sites
Sptbot full scan
Fixed 301 problems ,
Spybot reported that 16 problems could not be fixed
w/o a reboot and re-running Spybot

Rebooted & Spybot scan for the 16 unresolved problems
8 Ploblems resolved - 8 problems remain
Ran Spybot full scan. same 8 problems remain
Ran Spybot from safe mode to try to clean last 8 seval times
w/o sucess
Download and run Erunt, registry backup utility
download DDS log software. uncheck the teatimer boxes in spybot
