Question Scan option in file context menu

    HI,

In another thread I reported installing SS&D 1.6.2.46 in Windows 8 Developer Preview, to see if it worked (and it did). But when I right-clicked on a folder in Windows Explorer, I was surprised to discover an option in the context menu to scan the folder with Spybot!

The thing is, I don't have that option in my Spybot install on my main PC (Vista). It's the same version of SS&D. When setting up Spybot on Win8, I don't remember doing anything different or unusual -- so what could explain the difference? Did I miss some detail during the installation?

Obviously, if it's possible to get the context menu scan option on my Vista, I'd like to do it.

(If it helps, first I had installed and then uninstalled the Spybot 2 beta on the Win8 system.)

    Any thoughts on this?

    Hello,

You can activate it manually if you missed to choose it in the wizard.
Enter your "Start" Windows panel on the lower left, choose "run" and enter the following command line parameter to activate it:
    "C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SDFiles.exe" /register

After that you'll get a notification that the command was successful executed.

Now you can right click on a file and click on the tab Spybot - S&D.
The single file will be scanned.

    Best regards
