    Default cpv.srv-ad.com pop unders

My laptop got infected with something that creates pop unders. When they first open, it says "waiting for CPV.SRV-Ad.COM" eventually the pop under will redirect to an ad, such as Overstock.com. A google search shows people reporting this problem starting sometime in July. The pop under appears randomly on any site you are on, and tends to use a lot of CPU resources. I was able to find references to cpv.arv-ad.com in my registry, but I cant seem to kill them off permanently. The only known solution online is to do a fresh install of the browser.

I am using FF 15.0.1 and I have disabled all add on except the basic ones and McAfee. Let me know if you need any more info.

    Hello azgreentea,

For someone to take a look at the system please start a topic in the Malware Removal Forum and a volunteer analyst will advise when available.

First see that forum's FAQ which also includes instructions in post #2 on how to provide DDS/aswMBR logs, which are the logs used in the preliminary analysis.
