Hi.
I have read the other topic you posted etc...
I just finished the last steps: CHKDSK scans completed. TFC program installed and ran. DEFRAG C: -F ran at cmd prompt. CHKDSK C: /R was ran.
Good...when I give the all clear I will provide further advice about the importance of regular system maintenance etc.
ESET I ran into differences with the guide. I ran esetsmartinstaller_enu.exe because I'm on Google Chrome. I was not prompted the allow the Add-On/Active X option. The scans ran and I'll post the log.txt in this reply.
That is because I advised to use either Internet Explorer or Mozilla FireFox, hence no specific instructions provided regarding Google Chrome.
The computer is running fine, some of the scans seemed to take a long time:one was 9-12 hours (and I had to run it again because someone started to use the computer). The only problems found were on the ESET program which said it found 4 infected files. I didn't see anything about cleaning those, I copied the log.txt and clicked FINISH per the instructions.
Sometimes the scan can take quite some time to complete, especially if a large capacity drive(s) to check etc and or taking into consideration the age and condition of any-one actual hard-drive for example.
Anyway lets deal with the results of the online scan, nothing too bad at all in the great scheme of things but prudent to deal with non the less.
Custom OTL Script:
- Double-click OTL.exe to start the program.
- Copy the lines from the codebox to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):
Code:
:Files
C:\Documents and Settings\Mark\Local Settings\Application Data\Sun
C:\Documents and Settings\Mark\Local Settings\Application Data\VisualBeeExe\MyBabylonTB.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Mark\My Documents\Downloads\iLividSetup.exe
:Commands
[EmptyTemp]
- Return to OTL, right-click in the Custom Scans/Fixes window (under the cyan bar) and choose Paste.
- Then click the red Run Fix button.
- Let the program run unhindered.
- If OTL asks to reboot your computer, allow it to do so. The report should appear in Notepad after the reboot.
Note: The logfile can also be located C: >> _OTL >> MovedFiles >> DD/DD/DD TT/TT.txt <-- denotes date/time log created.

Let check/update some software as follows shall we...
- Download and install FileHippo Update Checker from here.
- Once installed(during the installation process deselect the option:- Run at Startup >> Start >> All Programs >> double-click on Update Checker >> a browser window will open after the scan is complete.
- Download any updates detected(apart from beta updates) to the desktop >> uninstall anything that requires updating via Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
- Re-install the updated software, delete the installers and then empty the Recycle Bin.
Note: When I give the all clear my advise would be to consider keeping FileHippo Update Checker installed. Then periodically use it to check for any updates as having certain software outdated is a potential for malware to gain a foothold and exploit a system etc.

When completed the above, please post back the following in the order asked for:
- How is your computer performing now, any further symptoms and or problems encountered?
- OTL Log from the Custom Script.
