Looks like your windows updates got corrupted, happens sometimes. When you start your computer and that box opens just close it out. Then open Internet Explorer and click on the Safety Tab and then Windows Updates, have it search for updates and see if will download and install them this time. Just install any Critical Updates, do not install any driver files or anything else. If it fails then go to your control panel and click on Windows Updates and on the top click on Change Settings and change it to Never check for updates, this is just a temporary fix. If still problems let me know and I will link you to a windows forum that can sort it out for you.
As far as ERUNT
C:\Program Files\ERUNT <-- Delete this
C:\Windows\ERDNT<--Delete this
Not looking for a Safety tab, that was just for IE, This is where I wanted you to go
Start Menu > All Programs > Windows Updates
Mike,
Go here and register, like Safer Networking its free but you need to be a member, this is a great site for windows support amongst other things, the reason for the referral is that we just do malware removal on this one. Use the same user name your using here so I can go over there and find you.
Then go here and post in the Windows Forum, give them all the info they need in regards to your Operating System and tell them your having trouble downloading and installing Windows Updates
We need to update your Java to keep you more secure
Go to your Control Panel and click on the Java Icon ( looks like a little coffee cup ) click on About and you should have Version 7 Update 21, if not proceed with the instructions.
Go to the update Tab and update it
Important, during the upgrade UNCHECK ASK TOOL BAR. ( you do not need or want this )
Then go to your Add Remove Programs (WIN XP) or Programs and Features (Vista / Win 7) in the Control Panel and uninstall all previous versions.
Hello Ken,
I did what you said , however I started new topic under Spyware / Malware / Virus Removal . I didn't realize I should have posted under the Software / Windows section. Sorry
