In Memoriam -Always in our heart
Hello,
Let's go back to the beginning. If you still have it, please delete fixwareout and download a new one.
Please run HijackThis! and click "Scan." Place checks next to the following entries, if present:
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{EAC62E71-ED80-48AE-B816-A0480BD2CDED}: NameServer = 85.255.114.6 85.255.112.157
Close all browsers and other windows except for HijackThis!, and click "Fix Checked".
You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.
Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/file...Fixwareout.exe
Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
FOR CONNECTION PROBLEMS :
Click on Start, Control Panel, select the Network and Internet Connections category or double click on Network Connections, depending on which View you are using. Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item. Write down the settings in case you should need to change them back. Select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically.
Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks. If it does not prompt you to reboot go ahead and reboot manually.
Once the desktop loads please post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log.
Thanks,
tea

Tea,
when I reboot, HJT runs a scan automaticly. The O17 entry isn't in the resulting scan. After I connect to my dial-up connection, I re-run the scan
and the O17 entry i in there again! Don't know whats up with that. Anyway,
here's the reports.

Hello,
I want you to do the bottom part of this even if there are no connection problems, please.
Please run HijackThis! and click "Scan." Place checks next to the following entries, if present:
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{EAC62E71-ED80-48AE-B816-A0480BD2CDED}: NameServer = 85.255.114.6 85.255.112.157
Close all browsers and other windows except for HijackThis!, and click "Fix Checked".
Note:
If You have connection problems or those 017's ~ 85.255.114.6 85.255.112.157, return >
Before doing this write down all the settings, Note that not all system/setups even have these settings, While some connection service's will require them.
In the windows control panel. If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category otherwise double click on Network Connections. Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically
Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
Do that for every connection listed.
Let me know.
Regards,
tea
-
Dns
Tea,
In the two connections listed, neither one has the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item in it.
One conection is labeled UMACS which is my Internet connection and uses a 56K modem and the other one is labeled LAN or High-Speed Internet which is for my home network and used an ETHERNET card. Dosen't seem to be any problem with either of them.
What now?

Disclaimer
This service is by no means 100% safe. If this scanner says 'OK', it does not necessarily mean the file is clean. There could be a whole new virus on the loose. NEVER EVER rely on one single product only, not even this service, even though it utilizes several products. Therefore, We cannot and will not be held responsible for any damage caused by results presented by this non-profit online service.
Also, we are aware of the implications of a setup like this. We are sure this whole thing is by no means scientifically correct, since this is a fully automated service (although manual correction is possible). We are aware, in spite of efforts to proactively counter these, false positives might occur, for example. We do not consider this a very big issue, so please do not e-mail us about it. This is a simple online scan service, not the university of Wichita.
Scanning can take a while, since several scanners are being used, plus the fact some scanners use very high levels of (time consuming) heuristics. Scanners used are Linux versions, differences with Windows scanners may or may not occur. Another note: some scanners will only report one virus when scanning archives with multiple pieces of malware.
Virus definitions are updated every hour. There is a 15Mb limit per file. Please refrain from uploading tons of hex-edited or repacked variants of the same sample.
Please do not ask for viruses uploaded here, unless you work for an anti-virus vendor. They are not for trade. This is a legitimate service, not a VX site. Viruses uploaded here will be distributed to antivirus vendors without exception. Read more about this in our privacy policy. EXE's
Tea,
I found and deleted the first three, but could not locate a encodex.exe to delete. Rebooted and the ones I deleted were still gone. Did the dial-up thing and ran a HJT scan, the O17 is still in it, I'll post.

Hi neener,
Let's dig a bit deeper.
Download and Save blacklight to your desktop.
F-Secure Blacklight: https://europe.f-secure.com/blacklight/try.shtml
Double-click blbeta.exe then accept the agreement.
click > scan then > next,
You'll see a list of all items found.
Don't choose rename yet! I want to see the log first, because legit items can also be present there...
There must be also a log on your desktop with the name fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (the xxxxxxx stand for numbers)
Post the contents of the log in your next reply.
Hang in there, we'll whoop it yet!
Thanks,
tea
