Exclamation dllhost.exe and explorer.exe big problems

I'm not sure where to start, what to do, or post as I have never done this before, but recently (over the past few months) I have had an issue with dllhost.exe and more recently explorer.exe I've tried doing scans to no avail apart from removing other stuff that should not have been on here. I'm pretty sure this is a virus or sorts as this issue is whenever I start up an application, say Microsoft word, or even the recycle bin (this where the explorer.exe started playing up) or even my documents or my computer on processes in windows task manager dllhost would appear and work its way to the top immediately using more and more RAM going up at alarming rates and before long all 8GB of RAM was taken up, the only way I've found to keep it under control has been to end the process, perhaps once or twice and it will go, vanish. until either I next start my laptop up (it also without fail starts up with my laptop like this) or I start up a word document or sometimes my computer again, I would like to get this sorted once and for all, but have no idea whatsoever of where to start.

    Hello Yates,

For someone to take a look at the system please see the FAQ which includes guidelines for this forum and instructions in post #2 on how to provide the preliminary DDS and aswMBR logs used for analysis.

    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288

Then start a new topic providing the logs and a volunteer analyst will advise and guide when available.

    Best regards.
