    Default SpyBot at start up??

Is it possible to simply have SpyBot on your PC and not having it start-up and into the Tary, every time you start up the PC? S I can decide myself when I want to run SpyBot or not. Is this simply a setting in the program?
    If so, where??

The system tray icon is associated with TeaTimer not the Spybot-S&D scanner, etc. TeaTimer is only activated if you optionally checked it during the installation process or manually activated it within Spybot after the competition of the installation process.

    TeaTimer performs two distinct functions:
    1. Processes start-up monitor.
    2. Registry change monitor.

In order to perform those function it must run all the time.

If you would like to continue running TeaTimer there is no option to eliminate the system tray icon.

To eliminate the running of TeaTimer and its associated system tray icon:
    • Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced Mode > Tools > Resident.
    • Uncheck the following:
      • Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) Active.

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition running on a 2.40GHz IntelŪ PentiumŪ 4 Processor with 512 MB of RAM and a 533 MHz System Bus.
