    Default Montera browser hijack problem

I had a problem removing Montera entries from the Registry automatically; it came back as impossible because the entries were in use/in memory.

I looked up the manual removal notes, for which many thanks, but thought I'd try one last time by starting Windows in Safe Mode (no networkign, etc.) and then running SpyBot. I had to adjust the screen resolution to find SpyBot, but it worked! Up came the same four Registry entries for Montera, but when I asked for removal, they went.

This might be a well-known ploy, but I'm glad it worked.

Are you saying it worked and the reg entries are now gone?
