    Default False Positive: SpeedUpMyPC

Uniblue's 'SpeedUpMyPC' recently released a new version that renamed it's executable. The newest version is labeled "SpeeedUpMyPC 2014 (6.0.1.1)".

Spybot's latest System Scan flags the new software as:

    Product: Fraud.SpeedUpMyPC
    Category: Malware-C
    Type: File
    Rule ID: A9A24FAF
    Estimated Danger: Very

It also flagged the new directory that SpeedUpMyPC created and a couple of related Registry files.

I am running Spybot-Search & Destroy + AV, Version 2.2.21.0. It was last updated just before the System Scan was run (2/16/14 11:15am CDT).

My OS is Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium.

Attached is the log file from this System Scan.

I would rather consider it as PUP.

This program doesn't show false threats and suggests to improve the speed of your PC. If it really does that - this is another question. Anyway, there is free software which is probably more effective, this much is true.
