Help Needed: Idd##.tmp.exe - HJT log

Hi guys, I have a (serious) problem.

I like to think of myself as a very safe internet user, I am computer literate (I built my PC from scratch) and have all of the good anti-spyware programs (i.e. Adaware, Ewido, Spybot, SpywareBlaster) aswell as a paid subscription to Norton AV and Norton Firewall. My PC has always run ultra fast and has never had problems.

However, i have been infected with some malware (Can't be sure if it's a trojan or just plain adware). Basically, every 30mins or so, a file is created in Windows\Temp called IDD##.tmp.exe where ## represents any combination of numbers and letters. Along with this, a new connection is created in Network Connections entitled ENTER, and it says that it is a WAN miniport connection.

When this happens, Norton blocks all access to the internet from the IDD.tmp.exe file, but sometimes the new connection will attempt to dial, which cuts off my real internet for a few seconds.

I have run Norton, Ewido, Adaware in safemode to no avail, and have run ATF cleaner and CCleaner to remove all temporary files and caches, but still the problem persists.

In addition to this, games on my PC have been running slower, windows have been taking longer to open, and right now the XP theme is not working, so Windows currently looks like 98/2000, even though it is set to XP theme.

Well i uploaded one of them and scanned it, it said it was infected with:

Trojan.Win32.Dialer.qy

Any ideas on how to clean this one up?

It's getting worse!!!

I can no longer open My Computer, Control Panel, or anything involving Windows Explorer without losing the taskbar etc. (I assume explorer.exe restarts itself).

Also, all games are now unplayable as they stutter uncontrollably, although audio seems unaffected.

Still nothing showing up on scans, and I can't get HJT to save any logs of any scans.

Somebody please help me!!!

hjt log dosnt provide any clues, others you ran dont find anything? there all up to date? i would try another commercial app. like Counterspy, has a 15 day version. download and install it update and run a scan:

Yeah nothing so far has found anything. Well ewido found a few threats but this problem was not fixed.

I am currently running CounterSpy, and I have a question:

It says under infected files that PartyPoker is possibly a threat. My mate got me to download it so we could play Poker together (It's not real money) and I was under the impression that millions of people used it. Is it possible that this is the source of the virus?

not sure really, maybe because of its privacy or cookie policy or some other policy. if it was a threat counter spy would remove it, so would ewido and all the others spybot, ad aware etc.

Okay thanks, was just making sure.

Counterspy finished it's scan this morning, I left the PC on overnight as it was taking so long. When i left it, it had found 3 trojans and alot of tracking cookies etc.

However, when i came down to it this morning, it was finished and the report said it had detected 0 spyware. Now when i look at the report it shows everything it found last night, including the trojans, with "action: ignored" next to it.

What went wrong?!?

from the main menu, click on the manage quarantine button and see if there is anything in quarantine. after a scan you might have to "apply a action" like tell it to quarantine, ignore, remove etc.

No there is nothing showing up in Manage Quarantine.

However, after clearing out my temp folder, killing all tasks relating to Idd##.tmp.exe and win##.tmp and deleting a file called winzlo32.dll in my /System32 folder through cmd, the temp files have not regenerated, and i can access My Computer again, although the PC is still running very slowly.

I will scan again with Norton and Ewido in safe mode, and see how everything is after then.
