can't uninstall spybot 1.6.2

When I try, I get the error message ". . .\spybot - search & destroy\unins000.msg is missing. Please correct the problem or obtain a new copy of the program." Running W7 32 bit.

I tried downloading Spybot 2, thinking it would automatically uninstall the previous version, but no. Now I have two versions of spybot on my machine. How do I get rid of the old version?

Install a new copy of Spybot 1.6.2 over the old copy of Spybot 1.6.2:
http://www.safer-networking.org/dl/
That should give you the unins000.msg file,allowing you to uninstall it after that.
