Please expand on your query, "Virtual Spybot."

    Spybot's home page: http://www.safer-networking.org/

" It is entirely possible that we may see a second wave of attacks against this bug, as it appears also to be present in a great deal of Internet hardware
and third-party security products, such as specific commercial firewall and virtual private network (VPN) tools. "

"there is nothing to prevent attackers from replaying the attack over and over, all the while recording fresh data flowing through vulnerable servers.
Indeed, I have seen firsthand data showing that some attackers have done just that; for example, compiling huge lists of credentials stolen from users
logging in at various sites that remained vulnerable to this bug. "

I'm not sure what you mean, personally I checked the sites I frequent for the OpenSSL vulnerability back in April and changed my passwords where necessary.

You can do so yourself, from krebsonsecurity that I linked previously.

For this reason, I believe it is a good idea for Internet users to consider changing passwords at least at sites that they visited since this bug became public (Monday morning). But it’s important that readers first make an effort to determine that the site in question is not vulnerable to this bug before changing their passwords. Here are some resources that can tell you if a site is vulnerable:
    http://filippo.io/Heartbleed/
    https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/
    http://heartbleed.criticalwatch.com/
    https://lastpass.com/heartbleed/

Were you in VPN when you changed your passwords?
Were you using Spybot at the time?

No VPN, just surfed to the sites which I knew had already updated and changed passwords.

    Kind regards.

For this entire thread I have been in VPN, avast SafeZone, and have entered the forum by way of
http://forums.spybot.info/forum.php , which is on my avast browser bar. What protection has
Spybot provided while I have been working the thread?

You are using VPN, Avast SafeZone and this site isn't infected so what protection are you expecting from Spybot at its home forums?

    Spybot overview: http://www.safer-networking.org/private/

    Best regards.

I do not like to be redundant... but, what is Spybot doing in the VPN environment?
