Spybot loops and never provides a report

Just loaded my spybot program. It never finishes running. I left it overnight and was still running the next day. Today I watched it and noticed that it ran, but then immediately started the scan again as if it is stuck in a loop. I think it gets almost to the end of the scan and then starts over. I know I have a bunch of stuff to clean out, as I recently purchased a driver update program, and they tried to sell me their product very similar to Spybot. They ran their product and showed me the malware I have on my PC I've used spybot in the past and liked it and would rather use it. But I can't if it won't work. Please help!
