i don't know if there's anything left to do juliet. since my last visit this pc has been running great. i downloaded the editor though and that was a huge slowdown. really big as this pc was really faster than since i've had it and i was becoming more at ease with win10. i guess let me wait a day maybe...if no problems by this time tomorrow i'll come let you know, ok?

juliet what can be making firefox hang and crash so much? i didn't get far from here and it started freezing up. i play online darts at www.flyordie.com and play against other players. the game opens in a new window which is the one that freezes. once it freezes for so long that window has to be closed and it takes away your ranking...i was coming back to tell you about it and i had to close all firefox tabs. usually when it happens it gives a prompt of flash is hung and to stop it or let it run

I'm going to assume this is adobe flash player?, might also be a common problem.
Make sure you have the latest version of Firefox 44.0.2
    (Start Firefox, then >Help >About >Apply Update )

    Flash 20.0.0.306 <-- most current

    Flash test site:

Read over this Firefox link and see if any of the suggestions there apply to your system

it's kinda sketchy. when i leave here and say go to my email it is back to spinning longer. seems something may still be holding it back, but it may also be me...i just think there's still a piece of something. when i click post it'll load until earlier today when i left this morning one site would not load so i gave up. i also use my samsung s5active to tether my connection on my pc. some times when i close a page or try to open one it shows i lose my connection. could all this crap i picked up be affecting that.

If theres a small piece of something left I'm not seeing.

    Let's try this

Let's flush the DNS cache first:

Copy and paste these lines in Note pad.
(Start -> Run -> type notepad in the Open field -> OK)

    @Echo on
    pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc
    attrib -h -s -r hosts
    echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS
    attrib +r +h +s hosts
    popd
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    ipconfig /flushdns
    netsh winsock reset all
    netsh int ip reset all
    shutdown -r -t 1
    del %0

Save as flush.bat to your desktop.
Right click on the flush.bat file to run it as Administrator. Your computer will reboot.

    ~~

Turn off your modem and leave it unpowered for two minutes before restarting it. (This process will restart your Internet connection.)

Do these and let see if anything improves.

Download Security Check by screen317 from here.
    or these 2 other sites.
    http://rocketgrannie.spywareinfoforu...urityCheck.exe
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/securitycheck/

    • Save it to your Desktop.
    • Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
    • A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

Go through your add/remove programs list and delete older version of Java if the newest download didn't take care of that for you.

If you haven't rebooted since upgrading Firefox that might be way it still says older version.

    OK

What issues are we looking at now?
