Hello, I was running the Malwarebytes scan and all of a sudden Avast detected 51 threats. What should I do? The pop-up just disappeared from the screen and Malwarebytes is still running.....

    Kinda not surprised.

Please post the Eset log when finished.

I'm having some trouble running the ESET. I stopped the scan last night and went to bed, then tried to restart it this morning, and I get an error message that says "Unexpected error 3" and it does nothing more. So I reinstalled ESET from the internet, and tried running it from the new installation and again it gives me the same error message with no other buttons to press. What do I do next?

I don't think it completely uninstalled,

Go to add/remove programs, look for it and uninstall if found.

Now, open task manager (right click on bottom tool bar) then click on Show processes from all users
Scroll and look for the Eset file. If running, right click on the service to 'end task'

    then try again.

It's not in my Programs and Features nor in my processes in Task Manager. Tried again and still got the same error.

    OK, try one of these

    • Please download F-Secure Online Scan and save the file to your Desktop.
    • Temporarily disable your Anti-Virus software. For instructions, please refer to the following link.
    • Right-click F-SecureOnlineScanner.exe and select Run as administrator to run the programme.
    • Click Start.
    • Click Accept.
    • The scan will commence. Please allow the scan to complete.
    • Upon completion, you will be presented with a number of steps. In Step 3: Clean the files, do not alter any settings.
    • Click Next.
    • Click Full Report.
    • Copy the contents of the log and paste in your next reply.
    • Re-enable your Anti-Virus software.

    ------------------------------------

    BitDefender Quick Scan
    • Please go to BitDefender Quick Scan and click Scan Now.
    • If your browser interrupts the installation, allow the installation to commence.
    • Follow any prompts from your browser.
    • Click I agree.
    • Allow the scan to complete.
    • Upon completion, please inform me of the results.

Note: If the scan installed a browser extension/add-on, please proceed with the following steps:
    • For Chrome Users: In the URL bar, type chrome://extensions and click the icon next to BitDefender.
    • For Firefox Users: In the URL bar, type users about:addons and click the Remove button next to BitDefender.

I ran the F-Secure Online and after it completed, it said "No harmful items found". It didn't give me any other options other than to go to the internet and try their software. So then I ran Bitdefender and got he same result "You're Good to Go, No Active Viruses Found".

I really want that ESET to work because there was a bunch of stuff that was starting to come up in red. What else can I do to get it to start again?

It's very possible Eset was finding items already held in quarantine.....

Please Run TFC by OldTimer to clear temporary files:
TFC by OldTimer and save it to your desktop.

Close any open programs and Internet browsers.
Double click TFC.exe to run it on XP (for Vista and Windows 7 right click and choose "Run as administrator") and once it opens click on the Start button on the lower left of the program to allow it to begin cleaning.
Please be patient as clearing out temp files may take a while.
Once it completes you may be prompted to restart your computer, please do so.
Once it's finished you may delete TFC.exe from your desktop or save it for later use for the cleaning of temporary files.

If you have other antivirus, antispyware or anti-malware programs running on your computer, they may intercept the scan being performed by the ESET Online Scanner and hinder performance. You may wish to disable the real-time protection components of your other security software before running the ESET Online Scanner. Remember to turn them back on after you are finished.
You can get help on disabling your protection programs here

If you are running the ESET Online Scanner from a downloaded .exe, visit the following web page to download the latest version:
    http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/

Your not alone with Eset not running start to finish, we can try once more.

    How is your computer now?

This time the ESET scan ran! But the instructions didn't say what to do once it's finished, there is a few words missing.

The instructions say "Upon completion, click . If no threats were found, skip the next two bullet points." It says I have 165 threats found. What do I click upon completion?
