Default Upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 - made rather a mess

I Upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 and made a real mess. Win 10 is DIFFERENT. Just trying to configure it is very strange. You tell it not to include features or track you information; it does not give a rat's behind and does it anyway. Understanding what things that can be done actually mean is close to impossible (at least for me). MS does not write instructions for civilians. Long time problem; they just do not seem to recognize.

Spybot kept wanting to update but was not allowed by something. I did not want to actually uninstall Spybot, just make it stop interfering with an update request every time I needed to reboot. I finally tried to stop Spybot from task manager. Bad move.

Malwarebytes is gone. Bitdefender still works (I think). Things are "strange". No clear explanation of what that means. Hard to disassociate Win 10 and the Spybot issues.

I was not able to undo immunization. I would like to clear that out. I am also not sure I have actually removed all the Spybot pieces.

    Any suggestions?

    Could you clarify please:

    1) "Spybot kept wanting to update but was not allowed by something."

Did you receive any messages alerting an error?

    2) "I did not want to actually uninstall Spybot, just make it stop interfering with an update request every time I needed to reboot."

As in you received a Spybot message to update when you rebooted?

    3) "I finally tried to stop Spybot from task manager"

Couldn't you stop services within Spybot? Which version and edition do you have? https://www.safer-networking.org/shop/

By 'gone' do you mean you uninstalled Malwarebytes?

Is there a reason you are unsure if Bitdefender is working?

Which method did you use to remove Spybot?

    Best regards.
