Antispyware update does not finish

So I downloaded the free version. I clicked on download signatures (I use German version, so I try to translate). Now the bar is half green and it freezes on "File "spybotsd2-windows-upgrade-installer.exe" needs to be downloaded." What should I do now? I want to make a scan to remove this malware that deactivates my antivirus software and Windows Defender, but it seems I should have those signatures first. I use Vista and on the window it says that it has admin rights. Regards.

So, now, 6 months later, why does this STILL not work properly when you first install clean software.

Anyone on here responsible for fixing this issue ? Otherwise new users can't even run their first system scan
and will go elsewhere.
