Well the computer is running OK but AVG has a "Web Tuneup" module that indicates it is not activated. It requires installation of a plug-in which does not install with the issues I had initially. I installed it on other computers without a problem. I guess I am just going to live without it as the computer seems ok, an quite honestly I am not sure what the thing even does. Last time I tried to reinstall it I had the latest problems which seem fixed now. I'd rather live without whatever the thing does than make you go through all this again. Thanks again for your help.

You really don't need AVG Tuneup. From what I can find it's somewhat like a registry cleaner that we do not recommend

Avg is good but it comes with a lot of crapware. Just PUP (possibly unwanted program)
    AdwCleaner took it out
    [-] Key deleted: HKLM\SOFTWARE\AVG Tuneup

If there are no more issues let's remove tools and quarantine folders.

    • Please download DelFix or from Here and save the file to your Desktop.
    • Double-click DelFix.exe to run the programme.
    • Place a checkmark next to the following items:
    • Activate UAC
    • Remove disinfection tools
    • Click the Run button.
    • -- This will remove the specialized tools we used to disinfect your system.
Any leftover logs, files, folders or tools remaining on your Desktop which were not removed can be deleted manually (right-click the file + delete
      ).
