    Question V1.6.2 in 64-bit W7 HPE SP1?

Is it safe to use Spybot's old version in 64-bit W7 HPE SP1?

    Thank you in advance.

    Thank you for clarifying.

1.6.2 is still available for download, by safe do you mean compatible? There is a chart on this page.

If that doesn't answer the question I will leave a note for the team.

    Best regards.

I haven't tried v1.6.2 on Win10 myself. Would you like me to ask the team for clarification?

    Hello antdude,

Sorry for the delay, time zone differences and that time of the year.

Hi. Happy new year. The aforementioned chart refers to the latest version of Spybot. It is also stated that older OS versions are not supported by the latest Spybot versions.

To clarify: It is not stated, which older Spybot version may work with or without problems on the latest OS. Some of your customers run Spybot 1.6 on Win 10 without any problems, but we do not recommend this.

As usual the advice is: keep your software up to date. That means: get the latest updates available for your OS and, if possible, the latest version of Spybot with the latest updates.
