No server selected ??

Using Spybot S&D version 1.4. Never any problems before but now when I look for updates the update screen indicates "No servers selected" then fails telling me:

Error retrieving update info file!
Socket Error # 10060
Connection timed out.

The drop-down to select a server is inoperative and I can't select a server manually.

What is going on?

If you're unable to download the update through Spybot,you could download the detection update manually,from this page:
http://www.spybot.info/en/download/index.html

This updates the detection rules. Only needed if you do not want to use the update function integrated into Spybot-S&D.

Well yeah, I did download the updates manually but why has the integrated function stopped working and how to fix it. I'd prefer not to but if I can't find a clue as to how to fix I'll try uninstall/reinstall and see what happens.
