When I run update it comes up with error. When I look in the log the SDWelcome.exe has a red X.
Running Win 8.1 & Spybot 7.2
I have removed and re-installed with same problem.

Have you rebooted the computer since getting the error? I had the error a couple weeks ago, but then sdwelcome was scheduled to be replaced when I rebooted. If I remember correctly I may have rebooted twice, though it doesn't look like that is what happened in the logfile:
There are no more updates in my logfile related to sdwelcome.exe and the end part makes it look like the update didn't "stick", however when I checked my sdwelcome.exe file version is listed as 2.7.65.131, so I presume that means my sdwelcome.exe did update somewhere along the line.SDUpdate.exe [2018-08-24 03:37:12] [+] File "SDWelcome.exe" needs to be downloaded.

Yes I have rebooted. Get the same error.

A few others are getting the same thing, it looks like their sdwelcome is not being replaced on reboot:

I see now that tashi posted there and said thanks for reporting, so that most likely means the problem is being looked at and worked on and/or fixed.

Will check in to see if problem has been solved.
Having same problem ,has this been resolved
If you mean you reverted back to Spybot 2.6(I'm not sure what rev means), and you would like to go back to Spybot 2.7, then you could do this so you don't get the error.
