Default During folder scan, status UNKNOWN on all files in folder.

I am using Spybot 2.7 on Windows 10. When I try to scan my C drive download folder, all the status results are UNKNOWN. Breezes right past each file.

Are they well known file types, or are they a bit obscure? Are the downloads all different types of files, or are they the same? I found a reference where most files with the mkv extension were Unknown to Spybot a while back, for an example:

Thanks for getting back to me. There are many different files: pdf, jpeg, zip, exe. I've never had this before while using spybot.

You're welcome. Sorry it took me a bit to answer back, I must have forgotten to peek in at the forum yesterday.
In that case, it's probably best to use the contact form, and inquire as to what might be up:

Default Status unknown for .exe file

I am having the same problem, but in my case, it's just a single .exe file where I get status "unknown".

I have Spybot Search & Destroy + AV 2.7.64.0 Professional (Settings 2.7.64.139) on a PC with Windows 10 Pro.

The particular .exe file is probably unknown to Spybot. That can happen sometimes with single files. You could use the contact form to ask Team Spybot about it. You never know, they might ask to analyze it or something.

Thanks for the info and the suggestion. Since the file is more than 3 GB and took me almost 3 hours to download, I think I'll pass on submitting it on the contact form.

    lol!
You could always still contact them and ask about Unknown status on files, if you like. They can probably explain it better than I can.
