    Default Live Protection driver fail

Old question, but the FAQ answer didn't work.

I have a licensed (new) Home edition, and Live Protection driver will not install. I cleared the old (2.7) installation, installed 2.8.67.0, and all of that works as expected. I did the requested restarts, etc. Live Protection, even running Start Center as Admin fails. Full patched Win10 with many Gb of free space.
It's important to know when to stop arguing with people, and just let them be wrong.

There's a contact form on the spybot website. Since the FAQ didn't work, you could try filling that out to get help from Team Spybot:

Default Me too - live protection driver won't install and no support from Spybot

    I also have Home Edition.
    Live Protection drivers won't install.
Have fresh re-installed many times, including removing remnants of previous installed versions. This always has zero effect.
Spybot support isn't responding. About as much use as tits on a bull.

I'm using operating Win10, fully updated. This issue has come out of the blue.

Default I have the same problem

Yesterday, I renewed my annual Licence for Professional Ediion + AV 2.8

I had to update my existing version of Spybot which did have a working Live Protection.

The updated version will not accept Live Protection despite many attempts.

    Default CRAGUSBE - additional thoughts.

Looked up some old correspondence about SpyBot Problems and found a suggestion that I should install
SpyBot using Administrator Mode to ensure that it contains all needed bells & whistles.

I am prepared to do this: un-installing the existing files and then re-installing
the downloaded Pro 2.8 (right-clicking on this file and selecting Administrator Mode).
But I do not have a copy of my Licence Code, and do not know if it is included in the downloaded 2.8 exe file.

Would appreciate some guidance from Support on this.

    Thanks.

There's a page for lost licenses, CRAGUSBE. You could give that a try:
    https://www.safer-networking.org/lost-license/
Or, you can ask support on this page if you prefer, whether it's about the license key or whether you try installing with the installer in administrator mode and live protection driver still does not install:

    Same here.
btw, I removed the Mcfee trial that Win10 comes with. (It has live protection). I have checked, and I found no other live protection from another app installed/running.

I also had spybotAV 2.7 and its live protection worked.

A patch or test file has been put out and it works, at least for me, as it should. If nothing else, open a support ticket and ask for the patch kit.

    Hello,

This is the information I was given.

    We apologise for the inconvenience.

We are currently looking into this issue and have prepared a fix which we hope to include with the next Spybot updates but for now you can download and install it manually.

Please download the installer then run it to install the new Live Protection files.

You can download the Live Protection fix using the link below:
    https://download.spybot.info/Spybot2...ion-update.exe

Once the file has downloaded, please run the file.

Click “Yes” when prompted by the User Account Control.

The installer will open and then download and install the Live Protection files.

You will then be prompted to reboot your system for the changes to take affect.

Please restart your PC then let us know if Live Protection is now active.
