    Default Microsoft.Windows.Security.InternetExplorer

    Hello,

    I do not understand why SpyBot show an alert with the following entry in the registry :

    Microsoft.Windows.Security.InternetExplorer
    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-xxxxxx\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_LOCALMACHINE_LOCKDOWN\iexplore.exe!=W=1

    I have always thoug that it was good to have the iexplorer.exe value set to 1 in the following hive.

    What's wrong with it ?

    Thanks for any help to understand the alert.

    Guillaume.

    Default

    !=W=1 is saying it is not equal to 1,if I'm remembering correctly.

    Question http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=8119

    Hello

    Microsoft.Windows.Security.InternetExplorer

    I know this is an old discussion, but I came across this problem? recently & thought I'd share my experiences.
    I had recently downloaded AOL Active Security Monitor to try it out. I then started getting this alert when scanning with S&D along with numerous port scan reports from my firewall (Sygate Personal Firewall).
    Like other users, I removed it each time it was found only to have it reappear after rebooting. Rescanning immediately after removal showed no alert.
    I've just removed AOL ASM & no longer get any alerts from S&D, or port scan reports.
    Coincedence?
