    Default Spyware not being detected?

First off I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this.
I downloaded Spybot 1.4 today because I started getting a ton of random popups after clicking a "funny" link my friend sent me, normally i use Firefox, however the program it was linked in defaults to IE and I had never bothered to change it.
Initially it detected many problems, one called "Command service" which actually led me here and I was able to get rid of it (seemingly) by running spybot from safe mode. However after booting up again, I still had the popups ( though command service does not appear to be the problem at this point).
After several reboots , and using both Spybot and even adaware, I still have the problem, infact I can run it and run it again secondsl ater and a new rash of stuff pops up. I have neverh ad issuesl ike this before, I am usually pretty caustious and never get spyware/virus issues and I am wondering if there is anything else I can do aside from a reformat?.
Again I am sorry for posting this here if this is not the right place, I am not a very computer savvy person and have looked through a decent bit of these forums but most of it sadly goes over my head. Thanks in advance .

    Hi there.

If you would like someone will take a look at logs and assist you in the removal of any malware that might be present on the System, please follow the procedure in this link:
"BEFORE you POST" -Preliminary Steps and scanning with SPYBOT-S&D

It is important that the steps in that topic are followed as listed, ie: an on-line anti virus scanner and Spybot-S&D ran in safe mode.

If that alone does not resolve the problem, please continue with the instructions to start your own thread in the malware forum:
    Malware Removal Forum

    Cheers.
