Talking browser redirect (for the nth time)

I'm having the same problem as a bunch of other posters it seems - click on one link and it redirects to another, "you are not protected click OK to continue" crap (a-f4 out of those) for a while. Sometime's is a google search for products, sometimes its vacations to 3rd world countries (not that they aren't beautiful when I'm in 2 feet of snow).

Spybot got rid of some things a week ago, but the problems havent gone away.
I'm supposed to post my HJT log right? Hope so - here goes.

    Default Thanks...

Thanks for the laundry list of to-do's and the quick reply.

It's going to take me a day or two to get that all done, and I'll start working on it tonight.

    Y'all rock, thanks again.

Thanks for the help - the system is running much much better since the fixes.

One thing to note - a bunch (2000) or so things were skipped during the AVG scan. In safe mode, I am unable to see the entire screen, and couldn't figure out how to resize it (changing the display size didn't do anything). I believe that i clicked on all of the entries to enable them (clicking to disable brings up a window). Should I rescan when not in safe mode?

    Hi

Scan this file -> C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMRML.EXE in VirusTotal and send results here.

    Do also this:

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner. You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
    • The program will launch and then start to download the latest definition files.
    • Once the scanner is installed and the definitions downloaded, click Next.
    • Now click on Scan Settings
    • In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:

o Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:

+ Extended (If available otherwise Standard)

      o Scan Options:

      + Scan Archives
      + Scan Mail Bases
    • Click OK
    • Now under select a target to scan select My Computer
    • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run. Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
    • Now click on the Save as Text button
    • Save the file to your desktop.
    • Copy and paste that information in your next post.

EDIT: And of course you can rescan with avg in normal mode, if you like.

    Send:

    - a fresh HijackThis log
    - VirusTotal results
    - kaspersky report
