    Default Various problems suddenly FXSSV.exe

I was doing fine since receiving help several weeks ago, but my cpu started running on overdrive, so I did a Spybot update & cleanup, an ad-aware cleanup, a Windows defender cleanup and then another scan with WDFR which turned up clean. But I just ran another Spybot scan and it detected even MORE problems than were cleaned the first time. I cleaned them out, then ran hijack this.

Thanks in advance for any assistance / advice on the next step

I agree, and I may be over-reacting. It just worried me to do a 3 step cleanout, then a scan turns up more problems than it did the first time. I am a fairly careful computer user, so it's not like I just download willy-nilly

And I read that fxssvc.exe is the Fax service, but that it can also be a disguised bit of spyware. I need to look into how to turn it off if it's really coming from Windows.

The only thing spybot caught during a scan I ran today was an Avenue A, Inc. Tracking Cookie - which I removed.

If you dont think this sounds serious then you can let it be, I won't post again unless I encounter a problem which is more identifiable.

    Thanks for your help
