    Default No Threats Found

I use Spybot and Adaware. They both used to find several threats every time I ran them, however, for nearly a year (aside from one day months ago with Adaware), neither have found any immediate threats. This doesn't seem possible. How can I determine whether or not I have a problem? If so, how do I fix it? Mouse

    Hello,

Which version of Spybot Search and Destroy do you run?
Do you have installed the latest updates?

    Best regards

I am using Spybot version 1.3 and I check for updates daily, even tho Spybot only seems to post them once/week on Fridays. Mouse

    Hello,

Please upgrade your program, version 1.4 is available!
First, please uninstall the old version according to this link:
    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/27.html
Now, you can download the new version here:
    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html
    Don't forget to update afterwards!
    Here is a tutorial:

    Default instructions

Thanks, Sandra....I hope it's properly installed (version 1.4), however, I was unable to perform some of the instructions. When I went to "this very small fix", all that I got was a list of HKEY LOCAL MACHINE and HKEY CLASSES down the page. There didn't appear to be anything or anyway to download. Then when I used the instructions for finding the Application Folder, I still couldn't find it. I'll let you know what happens. Mouse

Were you using Firefox? That opens .reg files that way.
Probably no need to do this now, since you already have SD 1.4 installed, but if you were using Firefox, and you ever want to get the very small fix again, just rightclick and select 'Save Link As'.

    Default "this very small fix"

Thanks, Xenobia. I do use Firefox. One thing that I don't understand, tho, is why I wasn't informed that I needed to upgrade? I check for updates every day. Is this something that I just have to check out once a year for myself? Mouse

You're welcome. Well, actually, now that you have Spybot 1.4,it should inform you when you need to upgrade.
    Please see this post:
    http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.p...30&postcount=2
    From this thread:
    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?p=52530

Further you will be informed whenever there is a new version out.
We have integrated this function with our current version Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.4.
So, whenever there is a new version you will get a notification when searching for new updates.

    Best regards
