    Dear Security Guys,

I want to complete my MS degree in network security. Is it important to take course in buffer overflow and shellcoding to be strong enough in industry.

Does that mean you have already started working towards a degree, if so I would think there is a curriculum in place to follow.

ie: Computer Science - Masters Degree for which one should already hold a bachelor's degree.

Network Security has many aspects, for instance as a Network Administrator one might be expected to have experience with Shellcoding, Packet filtering, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) Buffer and Heap overflow etc.

It really depends on the field you wish to get into.
