It's not about the vbrun files; that VB apps install those is ok. It's more that some VB installer do overwrite other system files. Could be comctl32.dll, comdlg32.dll or some of those files imho (am not at a work computer today, so I can't look this up); there are standard Windows animations available on any up-to-date Windows (including 95) in one of these files, and this file may be overwritten by an older version (btw you'll notice this when trying to run Spybot on Wine as well, since the libraries coded for Wine do not include those as well).
