    Default Please help

Hey Pieter, I have been coaching my brother on this and hope to resolve some issues that he has on his computer. I have been very impressed with with everything that you have shown me and my system is still working very well. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! So, as far as I am concerned, you are the man! If you could take a peek at my brothers log and tell me what you think, that would be great. I really appreciate all that you do! You are truly a credit to society!

Oh, and by the way, if I hit control+alt+delete on his system to go to the task manager, nothing happens. He also says that sometimes when he tries to connect to the internet that he will go to a webpage and it willl not load. He says that he has to close all the windows down and reboot his system and try it again. Then sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Oh and one more thing, he gets alerts alot that says that he is running on minimum memory (which is not a REAL surprise, hint hint LOL).

He has no protection on the system either. I told him about the eset, but he says that he wants his system to be back up and running the way it should before he installs any virus protection. He said that he heard that it would be bad to install VP ontop of an infected system? I don't know about that, what do you think?

    Thanks again Pieter!
    Tim

    Found you.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [anti_troj] C:\WINDOWS\system32\anti_troj.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [auto__antiav__key] C:\WINDOWS\system32\antiav_exe.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [key2] C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlog.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [anti_troj] C:\WINDOWS\system32\anti_troj.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [auto__antiav__key] C:\WINDOWS\system32\antiav_exe.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [key2] C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlog.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [german.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\wintems.exe

    O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler V3.exe
    O4 - Startup: Registration Brothers In Arms.LNK = ?

    O9 - Extra button: WeatherBug - {AF6CABAB-61F9-4f12-A198-B7D41EF1CB52} - C:\Program Files\AWS\WeatherBug\Weather.exe (file missing) (HKCU)

    O16 - DPF: {F54C1137-5E34-4B95-95A5-BA56D4D8D743} (Secure Delivery) - http://www.gamespot.com/KDX/kdx.cab
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: WRNotifier - WRLogonNTF.dll (file missing)

Then reboot into safe mode and delete:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlog.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\anti_troj.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\antiav_exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\wintems.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\foro.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\noat.exe

Save the part in bold below in notepad as removehook.reg
Doubleclick that file and confirm you want to merge it with the registry.

    REGEDIT

    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FirstRRRun]

    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DateTime9]

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\System]
    "DisableTaskMgr"=-

Boot back to normal and post a new HijackThis log.
