    Default Yes, it's myself again.

I came to my PC today after a few days away from home and found windows telling me it had recovered from a major error(?) Aaaanyway, thought I'd go through the usual procedure of Spybot Search, Norton Search, Malwarebytes Search etc and a few instances of SmitFraud popped up. Not sure if all fixes have removed any potential problems so I thought I'd ask yet again for your kind assistance to check if all is well now or not.

Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

I don't see any active infection in the HJT log but I have no idea what you removed with MBAM? Not sure where the Smitfraud came from but here is one sure way to get it:
    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=7344

    1) We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:
    * Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
    * If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
    * On the left hand side, Click on Tools
    * Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
    * Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
    * Restart your computer.

    2) Download ResetTeaTimer.bat to the Desktop
    http://downloads.subratam.org/ResetTeaTimer.bat
    Double click ResetTeaTimer.bat
to remove all entries set by TeaTimer (and preventing TeaTimer to restore them upon reactivation).

    3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
    http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

    4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: qoMdaArR - C:\WINDOWS\

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

    5) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
    Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

    6) Kaspersky Online Scanner: http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, click Yes.
The program will launch and start to download the latest definition files.
Once the scanner is installed and the definitions downloaded, click Next.
Now click on Scan Settings and select the following:
Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
    Extended (If available, otherwise Standard)
    Scan Options:
    Scan Archives
    Scan Mail Bases
    Click OK.
Under "select a target to scan", select My Computer.
Once the scan is complete, click on View scan report
Now, click on the Save Report as button.
Save the file to your desktop.
Copy and paste that information in your next post, include a new HJT log.

The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run. As it scans your machine very deeply it could take hours to complete, Kaspersky suggests running it during a time of low activity.

    Thanks

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback. Junk has been left in the HJT log that is probably caused by TeaTimer's memory. This will usually happen when the directions are not followed as posted, or the batch file is not run. Keep in mind you see nothing happen, when you doubleclick it clears the TeaTimer memory so it does not hold the junk in the log. The option is to uninstall Spybot completely.

That error code returns no information from Google. If it is posted correctly, google does no recognize it nor do I?
Have another look and make sure it is absolutely correct, have a try at Google for information yourself:

We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes.
    * Restart your computer.

    Download ResetTeaTimer.bat to the Desktop
    http://downloads.subratam.org/ResetTeaTimer.bat
    Double click ResetTeaTimer.bat
to remove all entries set by TeaTimer (and preventing TeaTimer to restore them upon reactivation).

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

    Run Clean Manager
    http://spyware-free.us/tutorials/cleanmgr/

Let me know about any malware issues.

Well all instructions have been followed and problems seem to have subsided once more. I copied and pasted the error code from the alert itself, so I was also surprised not to find any reference to the code online, making me suspect malware or the like in the first place. However there's no sign of that alert any more so I'm optimistic we're all good now.

    Profuse thanks,

    Dunc

Let's run another good malware remover before we close up.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.
    http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

    * Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
    * Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
    * Please post contents of that file in your next reply.

    Thanks

No need to apologize, you've given your free time to help me correct my own mistakes several times and it's highly appreciated. Just wanted to check I had the all-clear, so to speak. Profuse thanks once more.

    All the best,

    Dunc
