    Unhappy Hellz little spy

    I just saw a post on this and I am having the same problem. I cannot login to windows. Everytime I try it auto logs me off. I see wallpaper sometimes but then back to the logon screen...

    Windows XP Home Edition is what I'm working with.

    First off, Rodney ran spybot and it found (copied from prev post as it was what it had as well...via spybot not HT)

    HellzLittleSpy: Settings (Registry change, nothing done)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Userinit!=<$SYSDIR>\userinit.exe,

    Problem is that this was fixed and the PC rebooted. Now no user can logon. Not even in safe mode to do a restore. I logged into recovery console, renamed userinit.exe and copied the userinit.ex_ one to the system32. Still cant login. I tried to do the restore from here but I guess that only works while logged in to the cmd prompt in windows as it couldn't run rstrui.exe. I am logged in to recovery console as administrator yet when I try and access system volume info I get access is denied to do a manual restore. I am beyond frustrated at this point. I am hoping and praying I dont have to format as I have a new baby and havent printed alot of the pictures of her and I cant lose them!! Thats the only thing I care about on the PC. And no I didnt back them up. I have always been able to fix my PC when my boyfriend does things he shouldnt... until now. Does any of this make sense? Or am I screwed?
    Please help!
    Thanks!
    Ashley

    I'm sorry that you are having problems. If you were running either Spybot 1.3 or Spybot 1.4 and did a fix on a detection for HellzLittleSpy a registry entry would have been changed that causes you to be logged off immediately after you log on.

    For methods to fix the problem caused by HellzLittleSpy, see this blog entry:

    There is also a suggestion by HP_XP_User to purchase "Fix It Utilities Professional version 8" which seems to be successful in correcting the problem. See this post.

    Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.
