This message "file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in folder options control panel" is coming up.

System running WinXP. Recently did Norton renewal and install. Unable to access Control Panel.

Suggestions???

I'm working with a friend from work whose daughter let her virus software expire. Since she re-subscribed and updated . . her laptop has developed all sorts of issues. Of course the "child" left her disks in California . .but brought her issues home.
