??? : / Spybot-Search&Destroy does not ask you for any password(s). The most it does it ask you to give it Administer Rights in Windows Vista.
What you can do is>Right-click the Spybot-SD desktop icon>Run as Administer. See if that resolves the problem.
You also can use the scheduler to run the updates automatically, in which case you'll be only asked once when setting up the scheduler task.
Unless scheduled, it's intended by Microsofts UAC.

I came here to register and post same exact thing as did TwistedMike...
The answers given did not satisfy the question, in my opinion.
Spybot in XP works correctly... In Vista even when started as part of startup, you cannot update Immunize without stopping the program, and re-running the program, as TwistedMike posted, in order to run the Immunize program.
I realize this might be a Vista thing, but it is still a pain in the butt....
Any way around this???
First post...
That's one reason why Spybot-S&D 2 will have it all much more modularized. Not many 2.0 project tools issues are public yet, but I'll switch this one:
SDImmunize: ask to run if user wants to use it Vista-elevated
This does not make the UAC dialog void (you still have to confirm the action), but you'll need to only reload that small part, and are offered the choice to do:
This should make it a bit easier for the user imho

I posted over in DSLR, and a fellow suggested this:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc709691.aspx
By trying the "Run Always" option (Option 2) either on the Program icon, or Program icon and "All Users" option:
This causes a popup window requiring authorization on clicking on Icon from Systray, something that didn't happen before.. However, once it starts, This allows Spybot Immunize to run, except....
Immunize now misses 3 and won't re-learn it.
Went back to the way it was before...
