    Default Google Replacement, Redirect, and Spyware

    Whenever I navigate to www.google.com.au, I see a site that SAYS it is google, but it isn't.

    It looks almost the same as the new google, but this one is a bit older. For example it shows: Maps New! and the links are only just above the text. I also noticed some extra HTML stuffed into the index.

    The following is for the google search form.
    HTML Code:
    <input type=hidden name=tabs value="ca">
    <input type="hidden" name="newwindow" value="1"/>
    This makes it so that when I search, it takes me to a URL like this:
    http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&hl=en&q=TEST&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&meta=&tabs=ca&newwindow=1
    Disabled.

    When i do a google search with this, it comes up with normal results. But if I was to click one, it would first open a new browser window and direct me to
    [php]http://www.google.com.au/click?sa=T&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FAF&q=af&pid=0&u=aHR0cDovLzcyLjIzMy43NS4xOTMvY2xpY2sucGhwP2M9ZWI3MTFjNjgwZDdkOGVmMDcyNmYyYTY2MzMwMQ==&xr=[/php]Disabled. Obviously, the URL and some stuff changes per link.

    That page redirects me to various others, before POSSIBLY being put through to the correct site. These are some of the URLs which I have been redirected to (in no order):

    Disabled. It is obviously a marketing scheme.

    I also cannot double click the icon of my C drive in My Computer, or I receive an error that a non-existent (to me) exe file had caused a win32 exception and wants debugging.

    PHP Code:
    C:\RECYCLER>dir
     Volume in drive C is System
     Volume Serial Number is 6CE6
    -B0F3

     Directory of C
    :\RECYCLER

    File Not Found
    I found the malicious exe "install" file which caused this. I have placed it at REMOVED and hope it helps.

    OBVIOUSLY I RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT OPEN OR DOWNLOAD THE FILE UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!

    I forgot to add this..

    I was browsing registry looking for recent changes and odd keys, and came across this.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\NameServer
    Is this supposed to equal 85.255.112.39,85.255.112.40?

    Don't worry about the Apache and PHP stuff.

    Hi

    Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
    Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
    • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
      1. DDS.txt
      2. Attach.txt
    • Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.
