any estimate on a release date for 2.0
the anticipation is killing me

the answer is an emphatic NO!
they'll release a final version of spybot 2.0 when they're actually ready to release it (I know it's a cliché but it's true). heck, they don't even know when they'll release the first beta version of spybot 2.0.
try waiting for another season...

Hello everyone,
I a new custemer in this forum so I have one a important question:
Why it takes so much time until the new version Spybot 2.0 final version will release to the public! It's unbelieveble! I read that it had to release on January 2009! Now we in october 2010 and even though we didn't have a public beta version!......
I will happy to get a good answer....

Thank you for your help,

Spybot with nothing new for almost 2 years has fallen off the radar. What a big mistake.
Facebook has screen shots of 2.0 that are 8 months old. Twitter is no better.
Is 2.0 a dead horse that has been buried?
Yeah, it's kind of concerning that nothing ever arrived. I mean, all this time?
I used to have Spybot under a lot of consideration, and still do advice it family members to immunize IE, but... is this all Spybot is able to do? Because, it sure can't keep up with the existent malware, so that it can fight them.
Not only that, but also only weekly updates, do not make of Spybot a challenge to malware.
Again, I will advice this: If you cannot bring Spybot to a good term, then donate the code so that open source communities can make use of it and enhance it... and actually put it to work. Will Spybot simply die after all these years? It would be sad to see it happening. It used to be a very reliable option, but not any longer. :(
