    If you do not have a service pack on Windows XP it is very possible the computer is infected.

    Automatic Updates is usually enabled by default, did you change the settings? How long has it been since you updated the operating system?

    Default Last night computer woes i

    last night when i logged in to my computer i got many error messages

    1) explorer.exe
    0x01ae2b72 the memory could be read

    2) referenced memory
    0x01ae2b72


    3) 0x01ae5096 referenced memory
    0x0000000

    4) svchost.exe application error
    the instr at 0x7813f16e
    referenced memory
    0x000000000

    5) 0x7815df76
    0x000000013
    0x10388552
    0x076b4000
    referenced memory cant be written

    6) the instruction at 0x3d944ad7
    0x00000007 the memory could not be read

    7) microsoft security essentials
    error code 0x80070422

    what is happening to my comuter hard drive ?

    Default Finally working

    hi,
    my computer is fianlly working
    i dowloaded avast anti virus,
    and I can finally log into the
    internet, retrieve my emails,

    but it still have these error messages
    " application error
    defmgr.exe
    reader_sl.exe
    isuspm.exe
    mwsoemon.exe
    jusched.exe
    AdobeARM.exe "

    how could I delete that
    or, how would i delete that,
    it is so annoying,
    please help me tashi,

    I'm getting that error message and I did not try to uninstall security essentials. It won't load at startup and I get that error message instead. Should I uninstall it now?
    It seems like a reinstall is in order.
    What operating system?
    Prior Security Software?
    Any security software still installed?
    A possible reason for this problem is that you have conflicting security software installed fully or partially on the PC. Remove all other security software from the PC.
    You may need to use a cleanup tool to remove your prior security software:

    finally all is working I did as you suggested I did a reinstall, thanks so much tashi, I only have a minor issue as you can see on my post of today
