I think marriage goes better if you want to be married. I feel bad for people in the past who might have gotten married because it was the expected thing. It would be great if women could continue to be single without being referred to as Old Maids. I remember hearing one of my Great Aunts called that when I was growing up and she traveled the world and all that, and 'Old Maid' did not suit her.
Some take care of their elderly parents and never marry and they live in a good way.
Marriage isn't for everyone but, if you do marry let it be for the right reasons.
