Exclamation Registry Reviver - another rogue registry tool

I came accross Registry Reviver on a shareware site and its ads looked intriguing and quite seductive, so i visited the site and download the program. boy was i shocked to find thousands of errors on my pretty sweaky computer. as some one who was intrigued by the results, I started looking at the registry more closely. Was a Registry Reviver a fake av type program? Were the Registry Reviver reviews fake?

The results were not a surprize, Registry Reviver is reporting false errors such as empty registry keys that do very little to help the pc's performance but inflate error count to scare users into thinking they have problems on their pc. The program is completely useless and does nothing to improve pc performance.

Such false and misleading programs are the same to me like fake antivirus or fake av programs like antivirus 360 etc. Yet they seem to be able to get away with it and i really don't understand why, as this is just as dangerous and a fraudulent program that will actually harm your computer and leave you short of of a few bob

    Hi Tashi

I understand folks relunctance of registry cleaners - there are some very good applications out there and some do swear by them.

However I object to scare mongers like Registry Reviver, which is a clone of Slow PC Fighter, which inflate error count to scare users into purchase their fake registry cleaners. To add insult to injury, they load on boot, bypass user access control and report the PC's health is bad. That too happened on a fresh install of Windows 7

There is absolutely no value in removing empty keys and these vendors get away with. THis vendor claims to have user awards from Majorgeek (fake), PC World (fake) and CNET (fake)

    Others also agree - see

These are scam artists who need to brought to book with their rogueware

    thanks
